Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our tradesperson platform TradeLock. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account and using TradeLock (“Platform”), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
2Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use TradeLock. By using the Platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3User Accounts
Users may register as Clients, Tradespersons, or Companies.
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
4Platform Role
TradeLock is a technology platform connecting users.
TradeLock:
Is not a party to contracts between users
Does not provide trade services
Does not supervise work
Does not guarantee outcomes
All agreements are made directly between users.
5Payment System & Third-Party Providers
TradeLock uses third-party payment providers to facilitate payments.
By using payment features, you agree to the terms of our payment provider: Stripe (https://stripe.com/legal)
TradeLock does not hold or control funds
All payments are processed, held, and released by Stripe
TradeLock does not provide regulated financial services
6Secure Payment Protection (Clarification)
TradeLock provides a secure payment mechanism to reduce risk between users.
Any reference to payment protection is descriptive only.
TradeLock:
Does not operate a regulated financial service
Does not act as a financial institution
Does not fall under FCA-regulated safeguarding
7Subscriptions & Payments
7.1 Subscription Model
TradeLock operates on a subscription basis. Subscriptions are auto-renewing monthly. You will be charged automatically unless cancelled before renewal.
7.2 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
You have the right to cancel within 14 days of your initial subscription. If cancelled within 14 days → full refund of your first payment.
7.3 After 14 Days
No refunds are issued after the 14-day period. Your subscription remains active until the end of the billing cycle.
7.4 Future Billing Cycles
Subscriptions renew automatically each month. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation prevents the next billing cycle only. (Example: Cancel in month 2 → no refund, access continues until end of that month, no further charges after that).
7.5 Payment Failures
If payment fails: Access may be suspended, and services may be restricted until payment is successful.
8User Conduct
Users must behave lawfully and respectfully.
The following are strictly prohibited:
Fraud or scams
False job postings or misrepresentation
Attempting to bypass the payment system
Abuse, harassment, or bullying
Offensive or threatening behaviour
Enforcement:
Minor breaches → warning may be issued
Serious or repeated breaches → immediate suspension or permanent ban
TradeLock reserves full discretion in enforcement.
9Disputes
9.1 Dispute Initiation
A dispute may be raised where a party becomes unresponsive or there is disagreement over payment or work.
9.2 Platform Role
TradeLock facilitates communication only, does not provide legal judgment, and does not determine liability.
9.3 Unresolved Disputes
Users must resolve disputes independently through legal channels if necessary.
10Refunds & Held Payments
TradeLock may assist in facilitating refunds through the payment provider. However:
Final control of funds remains with the payment provider
TradeLock does not guarantee outcomes
11Data Protection & Privacy
TradeLock complies with UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and applicable international privacy laws.
Data Use: Account management, job facilitation, payment processing, legal compliance. TradeLock does not sell or monetize personal data.
12Data Security & Retention
Data is stored securely and retained only as necessary. Upon account deletion, data is removed unless legally required to retain it.
13User Rights
Users have rights including access, correction, deletion, and restriction of processing.
14Intellectual Property & Content
Users are responsible for content they submit. You must not upload illegal content, misleading information, or content you do not have rights to.
15Service Availability
TradeLock is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee continuous availability or error-free operation. Downtime may occur due to maintenance or technical issues.
16Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TradeLock is not liable for job outcomes, payment disputes, loss of income, delays, or damages between users.
17Indemnity
You agree to indemnify TradeLock against claims arising from your use of the platform or your breach of these Terms.
18Suspension & Termination
TradeLock may suspend or terminate accounts for breaches of these Terms, fraud or misuse, non-payment, or suspicious activity.
19Force Majeure
TradeLock is not liable for failures caused by events outside reasonable control, including natural disasters, network outages, or government actions.
20Changes to Terms
TradeLock may update these Terms at any time. Users will be notified where required. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
21Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. International users agree disputes may be handled under this jurisdiction unless otherwise required by local law.
22Company Accounts & Employee Access
22.1 Company Responsibility
Where a Company account is created, the Company is solely responsible for all activity conducted by its employees or representatives using the Platform.
22.2 Employee Access
Companies may grant access to employees for limited use, including viewing assigned jobs, clocking in and out, recording work activity, and sharing location data where applicable. Employees cannot enter into contracts or communicate with clients on behalf of the platform unless authorized externally.
22.3 Control of Accounts
The Company retains full control over employee access and is responsible for granting, restricting, or removing access. Must ensure credentials are not shared.
22.4 Liability
The Company accepts full responsibility for actions of employees, misuse of the Platform, and any data entered or recorded. TradeLock accepts no liability for employee actions.
22.5 Data Protection (Important)
Where employee data (including location data) is processed, the Company acts as the data controller and TradeLock acts as a data processor only. The Company is responsible for informing employees, obtaining any required consent, and complying with applicable data protection laws.
22.6 Misuse
TradeLock may suspend employee accounts or the Company account where misuse, fraud, or breaches occur.
